How to set up a web page - Domain Names
First of all, you need to think of a domain name, it may be relevant to a business name that you have or a product that you are trying to sell.
You will need to know if that domain name is available. You can quickly type it in to your address bar on your internet explorer, or you can go to a domain name server like GoDaddy.com and use their facilities to do a search.
Once you have chosen your required domain name you will then need to register it, GoDaddy.com is one of my favorites. There are ample to choose from, do a Google Search for "domain name registrations".
Your domain name server will take you through a registration process, this is so you will we able to log in at a later date to change details of yourself, email address, and DNS settings to name a few.
The DNS settings of the domain name are important, they point the domain name to the hosted web site. These may need to be changed when you have your web site hosted.
Most domain name servers have the ability to host your web site as well as your domain name and vica versa. You will need to shop around and find out what is the best deal.
